This project focused on creating a structured yet natural outdoor space that complements the character of the property and its surrounding landscape. The design centres around a circular paved feature, carefully constructed using traditional setts laid in a radial pattern to create a strong focal point within the garden. The circular paving is framed by curved stone walling, providing both definition and seating while maintaining a soft, organic feel. The walling was built using natural stone to blend seamlessly with the existing architecture and countryside setting.
Connecting paths were formed using a contrasting bound gravel surface, edged with stone detailing to define walkways and guide movement through the garden. These paths link the paved areas naturally to the house and surrounding lawn, creating a smooth transition between hard and soft landscaping.
The surrounding turfing and planting complete the space, framing the hard landscaping and enhancing views across the water and open grounds. The result is a calm, elegant outdoor area that feels both purposeful and in keeping with its environment, built with longevity, detail, and usability in mind.
